Speed is best trained at the highest intensity possible (your fastest) and has lots of rest in between (enough to fully recover to go your absolute fastest again.

Agility
Agility is the ability to change direction quickly. This is probably the most important physical quality in most sports. Changing direction quickly involves proper deceleration (slowing down) and then the quickest possible transition into a powerful acceleration.
The following activities are best for training acceleration:
Any short sprints with small changes of direction. Cone drills.
You can also change movement type when you change direction like sprint straight, side step to the left, run backwards, side step to the right and finish.
